چکیده

We propose using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to measure brain activity during driving tasks. Functional NIRS is a relatively new brain sensing technology that is portable and noninvasive, making it possible to sense brain activity in environments that would not be possible using most traditional imaging techniques. This provides us with the opportunity to better understand changes in cognitive state during mobile tasks, such as driving. Our research aims to integrate fNIRS into an existing driving test bed and explore signal processing and classification algorithms to study the sensitivity of fNIRS brain sensing to changes in the driver’s workload level in real-time.

Optical Imaging of the Motor Cortex in the Brain in Order to Determine the Direction of the Hand Movements Using Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS)

Introduction: In recent years, optical imaging has attracted a lot of attention from scholars as a non- aggressive, efficient method for evaluating the activities of the motor cortex in the brain. Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS (is a tool showing the hemodynamic changes in a cortical area of the brain according to optical principles. The present study has been de...

Meaningful Human-Computer Interaction Using fNIRS Brain Sensing

Functional near-infrared spectroscopy is an emerging non-invasive brain sensing technique that can provide valuable cognitive state information to a user interface. In this paper, we describe fNIRS technology, consider important attributes of fNIRS data, and propose some suggestions for using fNIRS for meaningful interaction.

Directly Evaluating the Cognitive Impact of Search User Interfaces: a Two-Pronged Approach with fNIRS

Recent research has pointed towards further understanding the cognitive processes involved in interactive information retrieval, with most papers using secondary measures of cognition to do so. Our own research is focused on using direct measures of cognitive workload, using brain sensing techniques with fNIRS. Amongst various brain sensing technologies, fNIRS is most conducive to ecologically ...

Measurement of Brain Function of Car Driver Using Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS)

The aim of this study is to propose a method for analyzing measured signal obtained from functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS), which is applicable for neuroimaging studies for car drivers. We developed a signal processing method by multiresolution analysis (MRA) based on discrete wavelet transform. Statistical group analysis using Z-score is conducted after the extraction of task-relat...
